Youth Development Initiatives
My Commitment/My Community (MyCom) is a longstanding youth development initiative in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. NES currently provides consultant services to MyCom including data collection, data cleaning and management, proposal writing, agency technical assistance and training, representation at meetings, and report development.

School-Based Programs
NES provided contract services to the United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland for it's Cleveland Connectors program with students at the Richmond Heights School District. The scope of work included grant proposal development, evaluation design, data collection and management, data analysis, and report writing. NES has also worked with the New Haven Public Schools in Connecticut to provide classroom-based survey data collection as well as focus group facilitation with middle school students. The President of NES has worked closely with the New York City Public Schools and the Cleveland Municipal School District.
County and State Human Service Agencies
NES has experience working on several State and County projects for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Cuyahoga County Office of Child Support Services, and the Franklin County Child Support Enforcement Agency. These evaluations measured the impact of enhanced support services on the financial literacy, employment, housing, and child support payments of families, fathers, and individuals returning from incarceration.
University Research and Evaluation
Experience working with several multi-disciplinary university research centers. Provided data collection, data analysis and focus group facilitation services for multiple school-based evaluation projects at The Consultation Center at Yale University. Provided data management and analysis services to the Department of Nursing at Western Connecticut State University. Outside of NES, Mr. Thomas has worked for university research centers at Cleveland State University, Kent State University and currently Case Western Reserve University.
Social Service Agencies
Designed and implemented an evaluation design focused on the financial education outcomes for a subset of obligors in Wayne and Holmes County. Analyses included child support obligation and payment data and client-level assessments of skills and knowledge gained in multiple Healthy Finances Program classes.
For-Profit Companies
Provided analytical support, reporting writing and federal grant proposal writing services to National Health Promotion Associates, the research and development arm for the evidence-based LifeSkills Training Program.
